Student Leadership Application

Hello Students! We here at Elmont are so excited for your interest in joining student leadership! Before you sign up for a team, I wanted to give you a little bit more information on what you are committing to do.

1) You will have a student leader contract to sign that addresses:
     - How you behave in your life outside of the church
     - The requirements of your individual role
     - A committment to attend leader meetings (you may miss up to
3 a semester with advance warning to Kensey)
2) Leader meetings will happen twice a month. One, is a mandatory large group meeting where you will stay after church on Sunday. We will provide lunch. At this meeting you will learn practical leadership skills, bond together as a team, and update the youth team with anything you need from church staff to be better equipped to succeed in your role. The second meeting a month is not mandatory but is strongly encouraged- during this time you will meet with the student leaders of your same gender to encourage one another towards individual righteousness. (While these are technically optional, if you miss them you will be asked to attend a one-on-one meeting with a youth leader just to check in on your heart.)
3) All Student Leaders will be expected to have an eye out for people who look left out or new. We want to be  a welcoming force not a team that only hangs out with one another.
4) Student Leaders MUST be in High School to join a team.
5) Applying to be a Student Leader does not automatically make you a part of the team. Ownership in the youth group is something we want for y'all, but is also not something to take lightly. In that, we will be looking over the applications, addressing how we have seen you lead in the past, and then moving forward in that process.
7) We will have a team leader training up at the church in August. This will be an all day event, we will feed you, play team building games, address the contracts, talk about your role and allow you to plan for the semester, talk practical leadership skills, and end the evening doing something fun together as a group. (we should be done by 10pm that night).
